Rick van der Graaf

Rick vd Graaf caught the aviation bug at the age of 5 while playing with model airplanes. He obtained his own flying license at 25 and was a Air show display pilot by the age of 30, and he has flown around 250 public displays to date.

His dream of flying nearly ended after an in-flight engine fire which led to a forced landing in the sea from which he was lucky to escape unhurt.

Since 1994 he has specialized in formation aerobatics in the Focke Wulf piaggio , in the Seagull formation team. He and his team have a lot of experience repairing and maintaining vintage aeroplanes. He also flies vintage aeroplanes for different collections. He has his own company and his "day job" is as a technical consultant.
